One of the leading risk factors for liver cancer is the Hepatitis B virus. We can observe this sign in both carrier and diseased variants of this virus.
Main risk factors for liver cancer
Another major risk factor is liver fibrosis. The fibrosis stage is followed by liver cirrhosis. In cirrhosis, as a result of the increase in atypical cells, we can see liver cancer. These are called primary liver cancer.
Secondary cancer and colonoscopy examination
Secondary cancer occurs by metastasizing to the liver from various other organs, the primary one being the intestines. I recommend undergoing a colonoscopy examination, which plays a major role in the early detection of the disease, regularly or twice a year after the age of 40.
