How do autoimmune hepatitis cases manifest themselves? Like all liver diseases, autoimmune hepatitis develops silently. If the patient is treated before the first symptoms appear, the effectiveness of the treatment is higher.
Age and gender differences of the disease
80% of patients with type one autoimmune disease are women. Age differences do not matter here. Sometimes we can encounter this over the age of 40, sometimes at the age of 35, and sometimes at 17, that is, at a younger age. Of course, there is no point in looking for autoimmune hepatitis over the age of 70.
How does it manifest if left untreated?
If the disease is not treated, mortality, i.e., the death rate, may increase after 5 years. If left untreated, this is a disease that progresses to cirrhosis.
